Opportunities for physics students from LMU:
1. Optical Tweezers with Chiral Light Beams
In collaboration with the company Vortex Photonics, we want to explore new “twists” for laser trapping and nanoparticle manipulation at wavelengths that extend into the bio-optical window of light.
This thesis offers an opportunity to contribute to innovative research at the interface of optics and nanophotonics. Please contact: t

2. Bright Quantum Dots Without Heavy Metals
Join our research challenge in developing highly luminescent, next-generation quantum dots beyond toxic heavy metal-based systems. Use state-of-the-art ultrafast spectroscopy to explore their optical properties.
This thesis offers hands-on experience in nanotechnology and advanced spectroscopy, preparing you for important topics in science and industry. Please contact: sushant

3. Controlling the Optical Properties of Perovskite Nanocrystals via Engineered Surface Strain
In this project, we will explore the effect of surface strain on the optical properties of lead halide perovskite nanocrystals. This will give us a unique and novel tool to tune the structural and optical properties of these bright nano-emitters.
This thesis offers an opportunity to work at the interface of optical spectroscopy and nanocrystal synthesis. Please contact: q
