Two new articles on perovskite nanocrystals in Advanced Materials and Angewandte Chemie:
In these papers we explore the synthesis of perovskite nanocrystals, focusing on the abitility to tune the dimensionality of the nanocrystals between 3D and 2D. Thus, we show the formation of perovskite nanoplatelets, which are 2D structures, down to a single unit cell thick (< 1nm). We find that the optical properties of these nanoplatelets differ greatly from their 3D counterparts and are strongly dependent on the thickness. We explore radiative efficiency and the possibility of employing these for light emission, including lasing.
