The Workshop on Optical Spectroscopy of New Materials “Optima” took place in the beautiful city of Syracuse (Sicily) this year. The city of Archimedes was the location chosen to host a week of scientific talks and fruitful discussions, with participants coming from all over the world: Germany, Italy, France, Poland, India, China and Argentina. The entire Workshop has been a real success, pyrotechnic shows offered by the adjacent volcano Etna included.
